AmeriMont Academy is an enriched Montessori environment created to love, educate and care for preschool through kindergarten children. We accept children between the ages of two through six and are open Monday through Friday. Our Mission Statement is: We strive to achieve excellence through education by exceeding all other traditional standards and following the basic principles of respect, love and hard work. We accomplish this by utilizing the widely recognized philosophies of Dr. Maria Montessori along with the experience of our highly trained teachers.

Historically schools have existed to teach children to listen, be quiet, and all learn the same thing at the same time. This format works okay for many but inevitably there are confidence issues as well as some children that are more advanced and yet others that are struggling to keep up and are and often overlooked. Many times these children become disruptive and are labeled as troublesome. Dr. Montessori found that if you appropriately challenge a child and allow them to advance at their own pace, they become very motivated and independently challenge themselves. A child is like a sponge, the younger they are, the easier it is for them to grow and excel.

It is an enriching experience to witness a child’s self-confidence and skills skyrocket as they progress and achieve success! Children in our school do yoga, say grace, learn manners, virtues, and as young as two years old have been able to master the capitals to the fifty states, learn their sounds and begin doing addition. We are an all inclusive environment that provides instruction in Math, Language, Spanish, Sign Language, Yoga, Science, Geography, Zoology, Practical Life, Culture and Computers.  We even have webcams to ensure worried parents how well cared for and happy their child is when they are away.  At AmeriMont Academy, our slogan is: “Achieving Excellence through Education”…and we truly are, please read our parent comments!

Our philosophy is to offer a comprehensive Montessori program that builds a foundation not only with strong academics, but also that of being a good person.  We offer optional activities after school, summer camp, potty training at no additional charge, a year end concert and graduation, webcams and consistent communication with our families.

Every morning our children gather outside (weather permitting) as an all school event for our morning assembly. They line up with their class at the flagpole and do the Pledge of Allegiance and then say the following Pledge to Myself:

I Pledge Allegiance to myself and who I want to be. I can make my dreams come true if I believe in me. I promise to stay in school, and learn the things I need to know, to make the world a better place, for kids like me to grow!

The Montessori program allows some flexibility to best suit the children's learning environment.  The activity schedule below shows examples of the daily routines of our different groups. We have developed a successful schedule that allows the children to have a well rounded, developmentally appropriate environment. Each group includes instruction in Spanish, Sign Language, Practical Life, Montessori jobs, presentations and circle time that includes virtue discussions and flashcards. The morning extended care is conducted inside, and afternoon extended care is generally outside until 5 p.m. (depending on weather conditions). Snack is included and is served between 9 -10 in the morning and 4-4:30 in the afternoon. Our children are given the opportunity to develop independence, learn social skills and benefit from having caring teachers and a bright, clean environment.
